Our DTH Pilot Reamers are used to make existing holes larger in diameter.
The centre pilot follows the existing hole while the outer button bit breaks the surrounding ground.
Not only does the centre pilot follow the hole it also absorbs the shock and energy generated while reaming. When a standard drill bit is used to ream a hole, the centre portion of the bit does not make contact with any ground and the energy produced through the drill bit has nowhere to be absorbed. This energy then forces the tungsten buttons to be push out of the drill bit where it is not in contact with the ground.
