SPT Hammer

The SPT Hammer is designed for driving the split tube sampler or cone assembly required for the Standard Penetration Test (SPT) or Cone Penetration Test (CPT).
The hammer consists of a sliding weight with a mass of 63.5 kg complete with pick-up and self-tripping mechanism that ensures that the weight has a free-fall of exactly 750 mm.
The inner shaft acts as a guide which permits the weight to drop with minimal resistance and ensures that the weight strikes the anvil squarely.
The base of the anvil has a B – box connection, and is supplied with a B pin – BWY pin coupling.
The hammer is supplied with a safety cross bolt which secures the sliding outer sleeve to the inner guide rod when the hammer is not in use or during transport.
The overall length of the hammer is 2320mm un-extended (without coupling) and 3070mm when extended (without coupling). The total weight of the complete hammer is 130 kg.
